{"id":6983,"date":"2021-03-25T17:14:23","date_gmt":"2021-03-25T07:14:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bardonnews.com.au\/?page_id=6983"},"modified":"2021-03-25T19:01:59","modified_gmt":"2021-03-25T09:01:59","slug":"bardon-to-experience-road-closures-for-new-tour-de-brisbane","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/bardonnews.com.au\/index.php\/bardon-to-experience-road-closures-for-new-tour-de-brisbane\/","title":{"rendered":"Bardon to Experience Road Closures for New Tour de Brisbane"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>In order to accommodate the <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/tourdebrisbane.org\/\"><strong>Tour de Brisbane<\/strong><\/a><strong>, major roads along Bardon and beyond will temporarily be closed down, including Milton Road, Sir Samuel Griffith Drive, Birdwood Terrace, and Mt Coot-tha Road.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"related\"><strong><em>Read:&nbsp; <a href=\"https:\/\/bardonnews.com.au\/index.php\/freak-hill-climbing-popular-bardon\/\">The Thrilling History of Freak Hill Climbing in Bardon<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>To guarantee the safety and security for both riders and spectators, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nxsports.org\/\">Nxsport\u2019s<\/a> cyclist event&nbsp; organisers of the Tour de Brisbane \u2014 scheduled for April 11, 2021 \u2014 have taken extra measures to close major roads and divert traffic along the route with the help and management of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.police.qld.gov.au\/\">Queensland Police Service<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/altustraffic.com.au\/\">Altus Traffic Control<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Major roads across Brisbane will temporarily be closed to accommodate the tour participants and spectators, including roads near Bardon such as Milton Road, Sir Samuel Griffith Drive, Birdwood Terrace, and Mt Coot-tha Road.\u00a0 For a complete schedule of all temporary road closures, visit their <a href=\"https:\/\/tourdebrisbane.org\/roads\/\">website<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is estimated that over 7,000 cyclists of various ages and skill levels will join the event across Brisbane and partake in a 110-kilometre bike ride around closed city roads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The cyclist event was created in partnership with <a href=\"https:\/\/splattlawyers.com.au\/\">Splatt Lawyers<\/a> as a fundraiser for a transplant research initiative titled <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thecommongood.org.au\/\">The Common Good<\/a> \u2014 a project of the Prince Charles Hospital Foundation.
